Goofs

We've been a bit selective about what constitutes a goof for Prince of Darkness. Reading dozens of continuity errors quickly becomes boring, so we've decided to omit the "her hand changed position between shots!!!" gaffes. Instead we've focused on noticeable mistakes or inconsistencies.

If you've noticed something which you really think should be listed here, drop us a line.

Right, on with the bloopers...

In the scene where Fr. Loomis is printing the letter to Birack requesting his help, there doesn't seem to be any cables going into the printer.
The interior of the building doesn't seem to match the exterior. (Obviously, since most of the church interiors were shot on a set but for those of you who might be interested here goes...).

When Birack and Fr. Loomis enter the church at the start of the movie, they're actually standing in the front hall of the real building. As they walk through the double doors to enter the main hallway, we switch to a set - the front hallway should still be visible in the background. But all we see is a wall, as if the two men have turned a corner in the building to walk down this long hallway.

Another inconsistency with the building seems to be the whole upstairs/downstairs concept. Birack and Fr. Loomis pass the stairs after entering the building to walk down the corridor. Later however, the rooms leading off this corridor seem to be upstairs, e.g. when Kelly is staring out at the street people, or when Brian and Walter jump out the kitchen window to run for help.

**Update**
Thanks to Sandy King, script supervisor for Prince of Darkness who contacted us to say that the apparent inconsistencies with the set and the real church stem from the unusual design of the old Japanese Union Church which was used for St. Godard's.

The stunt doubles for Ann Yen and Anne Marie Howard are noticeable in some shots when they're battling Birack and Walter in the kitchen.

The camera man's shadow can be seen on the back of Anne Marie Howard's stunt double just before Walter flips her through the window.

A shadow can be seen moving across the window of the church in the scene where Lisa gives her translated findings to the group. It can also be seen in the shot immediately before. In the video clip (left), keep a close eye on the windows of in the left-background and you'll see the shadow moving across the windows. It can also be seen when the shot changes to a medium close-up of Lisa.

Presumably, most of the team members had to actually visit the container downstairs in order to connect all of the equipment to it. Yet when Fr. Loomis and Birack bring them down as a group, the scene is played as if it's the first time most of them have seen it.

In the shot where the axe is flung at the mirror, somebody's hand can be seen throwing the axe from the bottom lef-hand of the frame
